Chocolate Cherry

- 1 Pkg. Fudge Cake Mix
- 21-Oz. Can Cherry Pie Filling
- 1 tsp Almond Extract
- 2 Eggs, beaten
Frosting:
- 1 cup Sugar
- 5 Tablespoons Butter or Margarine
- 1/3 Cup Milk
- 6-Oz. Pkg. (1 Cup) Semi-sweet Chocolate Pieces
- 1 tsp Almond Extract
Preheat oven to 350°. Using solid shortening or margarine, not
oil, (I use spray), grease and flour a 15x10 inch jelly roll pan or
13x9 inch pan. In large bowl, combine first 4 ingredients. By hand,
stir until well mixed. Pour into prepared pan. Bake jelly roll pan 20
to 30 min., and the 13x9 inch pan 25 to 30 min. or until toothpick inserted
in center comes out clean.
While bars (cake) cools, prepare frosting. In small saucepan, combine
sugar, butter and milk. Stirring constantly, bring to boil for one minute.
Remove from heat; stir in chocolate pieces until smooth. Pour over partially
cooled bars/cakes.
**Makes about 3 dozen bars.
